In addition to a safe and secure password, it is advisable to use a second way to authenticate yourself. This is called 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). When you manage your password settings, it will give you the option to use 2FA. There are several options you have to set this up:
Authenticator App (Recommended)An authenticator app creates a new code every 30 seconds that only you can see when you open the app. You then enter this code into the website you're trying to access. This method is more secure than using text messages or email, since hackers can easily reroute text messages meaning your account can become compromised. Here are two widely used and trusted authenticator apps:
Text Message or Email
The website will send you a text message or email each time you wish to sign in to your account. Please be aware that if someone has access to your text messages (for example, if you're logged into iMessage and messages are sent to multiple devices) or your email (if you're logged into your email on multiple devices), they will also be able to use the code that was sent to you to access whatever website you're trying to log into. For this reason, using an authenticator app is always the safer option.
